Yeah she was just chosen to be a spokesmodel in the new Dream Angels campaign. And then like last week when VS announced that Toni would be at the VS event for the launching of the Dream Angels line, which was today, Modelinia (a model website) asked Victoria’s Secret on twitter if that meant Toni signed a contract or is a new Angel, and VS responded back saying along the lines that she is a new “VS Angel”, but they meant a “new face”. And then VS later deleted that twitter post because everyone started calling her a new VS Angel.
There are 11 officials Angels.
Alessandra and Adriana are pregnant with their 2nd child and Lily is pregnant with her 1st.
No, I actually haven’t gotten much questions about Toni, but I really love your questions :)
I personally really like her and she really impressed me in the 2011 VSFS and then I became interested in her after it. It kind of came to a surprise to me that she became an Angel because she hasn’t had much experience with VS before. Like we’ve barely seen her with VS until now. And yes, the recent VSFS was her 1st one.
I also think she’s really pretty and looks a little like Doutzen- blonde, blue eyes, European, and she has like the same facial structure as Doutzen.
I haven’t thought about her becoming an Angel as a permanent replacement of Rosie’s position as Angel since you brought it up! I’ve only thought about it that since 3 of the current Angels are pregnant and will be absent for a while that some new Angels will step in. But I definitely think now that Toni is kind of taking the spot of Rosie and it’s like VS is saying that Rosie is no longer an Angel because we’ve still had no announcement from VS or Rosie that she’s no longer an official Angel but we call can basically assume that she isn’t anymore with Toni being an Angel now.
Yeah, Karlie is more well-known, but I don’t think they chose Karlie because she’s quite busy in the fashion industry already and is more of a PINK model type.
ANONYMOUS: A few weeks ago Behati tweeted this would be her “last” victoria secret fashion show… is it true :o where is she going?!
I didn’t see her tweet that, but she said it wasn’t true and put this on her twitter.

haha, no it’s not. I’m an Asian-American :) My answer was based off my own observations and inference thinking in the mind of those in the fashion industry.
ANONYMOUS: why isn’t there an Asian Victoria’s Secret angel? I know liu walks for the show, but its only one girl and shes only a model.. so yeah, I feel like Asians are somewhat under-represented in Victoria Secret.
Asian models have always been a minority in the fashion industry but over the recent years we’ve been seeing more and more Asian models. But for VS I guess there isn’t an Asian model that fits the spokesmodel part of being an Angel, like being able hold interviews and go on TV shows to promote something for VS, because the Asian models in the fashion industry right now (like Liu Wen) are all from Asia and are not the best at speaking English.
VS does try to show some Asians like Liu Wen and Jarah Mariano in other aspects of VS.
(Btw, I’m an Asian-American and this answer was based off inference and trying to think in the minds of the people at VS)

Ford and Elite are the top model agencies VS works with and they are the ones that recommend models to VS.

Since she started doing Transformers 3, she’s been more into the movie industry right now and is planning on continuing to do movies so that’s why she hasn’t been doing much VS right now.

Nope, she is not an Angel but she is a VS model. She does the VSFS and models their clothing and bras and etc. for the catalog and website, but is not considered an Angel.
ANONYMOUS: will rosie be walking in the vsfashionshow this year? i really hope so.
As of now, she is not walking in this year’s VSFS because she is not listed in the Angel Line-Up for the FS, but we do not know for sure because VS will release more model names that will be in the show later on.

Yes, Rosie is still considered an Angel even though she hasn’t been doing much work with VS for a while now. There’s some rumors that she didn’t re-sign her contract with VS. But she is still an Angel until an official statement is made that she is not.

Miranda has been in Australia for a while now spending time with her family and as the spokesperson for David Jones. Apparently she is in New Zealand right now where Orlando is shooting his new movie “The Hobbit” and she will return to Australia for more work and shop appearances at the end of the month.

You’re still young and have a lot of time to gain experience. Get as much practice as you can by posing in front of the mirror and taking pictures of yourself. Then you want to get out there as much as possible and go to many model castings.

Karolina has never released any information on why she’s not an Angel anymore, but at a certain point in a model’s career they chose to end some of their modeling works. And most likely her contract ended as well. But I guess all good things must come to an end.

I’m Asian myself and I liked how they put an Asian model in the show, but I honestly felt like VS was kinda obliged to be an Asian model in the fashion show. For me personally, I’m just use to not seeing Asians in the VS Fashion Shows and it was just kinda weird. It’s great that they put Lui Wen in the show, but I didn’t care much.

pennyless: Not really questions, but Jarah Mariano is at least a VS model, even if she isn’t an angel yet. She was featured heavily in the latest summer stuff, and is Hawaiian/Korean, if that makes a difference.
oh yeah, Jarah is one of my favorite models as well and I also forgot that Chanel is also part Korean. But I guess they don’t really represent generic Asians, but it is a stop in progress to having full asians as Angels.

No, not all the Angels have blue/green eyes, but the majority do. Ale, Lily, and Chanel have brown eyes.

Well i’ve never tried but I’m certain that you can bring in your boyfriends to help. I think it’s great that a boyfriend wants to help out with choosing lingerie because it’s mostly for them ;) But I think to make sure, just tell the person who is helping you at the fitting room that your boyfriend is helping you.

You can get the bra at at VS store or online at the Victoria’s Secret website, but they do not have the bra out right now or online. But I can contact you when they have the bra out.

You can check the FAQ for the steps. Yeah, it’s hard to know where to begin but you can begin but searching up model agencies online and check for castings and just research and really get to know the modeling world and how a casting goes. Tips would be to practice everyday how to pose, take photos, and walk and to become familiar with modeling. You may be rejected the 1st few couple of times, but don’t give up.

But yes there’s a difference. A VS model is just a model that models for VS clothing, lingerie, swim, etc. Like the ones you see on the VS website and catalogs. For example, Maryna Linchuk and Magdalena Frackowiak are VS Models.
But, a VS Angel is a VS model and representative. Like they do public appearances, promotions, VS commercials, and they’re the ones that basically get the spotlight and they’re the ones we know. Like some VS Angels are Adriana, Candice, Alessandra, etc.
I hope I answered your question and now you know the difference.

It’s really hard to become a VS model or Angel without an agency. The VS Angels and models today are from top model agencies. But, another possible way is by being randomly scouted like at the mall or market, which is how some models get founded and then they sign to an agency.
And no, It doesn’t matter what country you’re from. All of the Angels are from different countries but they are known throughout the fashion world.

There is no specific age requirement but you must be at least 18 years old.
And there is no auditions but you have to be signed to a top model agency like Elite Models or Ford Models which both book models for VS.
It is kind of a difficult process to become a VS model and I believe everyone wishes it were easier, lol.
